In order to identify and to integrate the scientific communitys interests on emerging areas of Computer Science, the Mexican Computer Science Society invites groups to submit proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction to the International Computer Science Conference 2008 (ENC'08).
The workshops provide a valuable opportunity to international scientific communities with common interests to present and discuss recent advances and research opportunities in emergent areas, and consolidate opportunities for developing such areas in our country. The topics addressed by the workshops must be complementary to those proposed by the tracks of ENC'08.
Enc workshops coordinators:
- Gabriel López Morteo, UABC. galopez@iing.mxl.uabc.mx
- Antonio García Macía, CICESE. jagm@cicese.mx
Detailed guidelines:
Proposals for workshops should be written in English and sent by email
to the coordinators at workshopsenc08@gmail.com by the deadline
indicated below (all correspondence should be also sent to this address;
correspondence sent to the personal addresses of the workshop
coordinators is not guaranteed to be read), and should contain:
- Title of the workshop.
- Organizers: names and institution.
- A description of the workshop's technical area including the objective, the impact of the subject in the international scientific community, and the subjects of interest that will be addressed.
- Structure and organization: English as official language for papers (although presentations can be made in English, Spanish, or both), duration of the workshop, sessions, type of expected contributions (long/short papers, posters, and demonstrations), evaluation process and important dates. We strongly suggest the inclusion of a discussion session towards the formation of collaboration networks. Only accepted full papers will be included in the proceedings.
- Possible keynote speakers. If accepted, the SMCC could finance travel expenses (transport and hotel) for one keynote speaker for every workshop.
- Possible international program committee members (principals members list, estimated number of committee members).
- Estimated number of contributions to be submitted, to be accepted.
- Estimated number of participants (at least 15 participants)
- Advertising policy: how the CFP will be advertised to the corresponding international community.
Workshop proposals will be evaluated by a scientific committee. Evaluation criteria include the experience of the organizing group in the proposed subject, the impact of the subject for the scientific, industrial, academic community and the clarity and solidity of the proposal.
All paper submissions for workshops will be evaluated by 3 members of the international program committee defined by the organizers of each workshop. Workshop papers should be written in English. The evaluation process will be managed by the EasyChair web submission system.
Accepted papers will be published in IEEE workshop proceedings, so they will have to respect IEEE guidelines. The organizers of accepted workshops will have to define details for the workshop organization. Workshops important days will be later than those of the general conference.
An accepted workshop can be cancelled if there are not enough registered participants and papers.
